Scientist or Senior Scientist, Microbiology (MB05)
Successful applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. in microbiology or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of industrial experience, ideally in antibacterial discovery and development.
Key competencies include:
• Deep understanding of microbial pathogenesis, metabolism, and antibiotic development
• Extensive experience performing antibacterial susceptibility assays with BSL2 pathogens, including the determination of MIC, MBC, PAE, etc.
• Experience characterizing the frequency and mechanisms of resistance for novel antibiotics, using both in vitro and in vivo experiments, as well as the clinical implications of resistance development
• Successful track record with characterizing the mechanism of action for novel antibiotics
• Working knowledge of animal models of infection, antibiotic pharmacodynamics, and PK/PD relationships are a plus
• Expertise in molecular cloning, protein expression and purification a plus
• Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration; diligence toward successfully achieving group research goals
• Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and analytical ability are essential

Associate or Senior Research Associate, Lead Discovery (AS06)
We are seeking a highly motivated biologist to join Lead Discovery group supporting research activities aimed at identifying and optimizing antibiotic compounds targeting Riboswitch. This researcher will use a variety of molecular, cellular, and biochemical methods to develop and prosecute assays to characterize small molecule drug candidates and pursue relevant research questions.
Successful candidates are expected to have:
- MS with 2+ years or BS with 4+ years laboratory experience in Biological Sciences;
- Strong background in development and implementation of biochemical and cellular assays in a pharmaceutical research laboratory or an academic setting;
- Hands-on experience with a range of techniques and demonstrated mastery of biochemical and molecular biology skills, including manipulating/engineering nucleic acids;
- Experience participating in compound screening and optimization an advantage;
- Aptitude for asking key questions and solving problems rapidly;
- Desire to rapidly learn new research areas and techniques and the ability to independently produce statistically rigorous test results;
- Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration;
- Strong organizational and communication skills, attention to detail and analytical ability, and communication skills are essential.
